Cuddlingus! The art of cuddling.

The act of cuddling, spooning, or snuggling. When two or more people lay down in an intertwined fashion. A cuddle is to hold close in one's arms as a way of showing love or affection. We all need this form of intimacy because it activates oxytocin. This hormone is essential for survival, it creates bonding, a sense of belonging and expands the feeling of wellbeing in your body. Cuddles relax your mind and keep you safe to experience vulnerability.

Oxytocin also intensifies memories of bonding that were not good and allows you to heal them. This hormone, when active, makes you more attractive and trustworthy. Our society is oxytocin deprived, we don’t cuddle or hug enough to get our healthy dose. The belief that we need to be in a romantic relationship to bond and the fear that it turns into sex makes people scared to be connected.

Let this belief go, have a specific intention when cuddling and do it as often as you can. Have cuddle-buddies which whom you share moments of nourishment.
